City adopted the 2006 International Residential Code, and the 2006 International Building Code  along with local amendments for public safety.

Building permits are required for most new construction, alterations, and repair work on any lot within Linn Valley City limits.  Contractors must be registered annually with the City of Linn Valley. Contractor Information. The 2024 Contractor List is regularly updated with names and contact information of registered contractors.

Permits for Docks, Electrical, or Water/Sewer tanks only, please use the individual permits listed below.  All others must use the Building Permit.

An environmental impact fee of $500 will be assessed for installation of a holding tank in addition to the required permit fees.

Submit completed applications with the $35 application fee (cash, check, or credit card) to City Hall (after hours use drop box on front door) mail, or email.

Applications are reviewed by the City Building Codes Department  on the 2nd and 4th Tuesday of the month. Applications must be submitted to City Hall by 4:00pm the Friday prior to the 2nd or 4th Tuesday.

You will be contacted when the permit is ready for pick up, approved permits will be available by Friday after the meeting.
